Thomas B. Pickens III – CEO & Chairman of the Board
Mr. Pickens is Chief Executive Officer of 1st Detect’s parent company, Astrotech Corporation and was appointed to Chairman of the Board in 2008. Mr. Pickens has founded and served as Chairman and CEO for many companies during the start-up, growth and turnaround phases of a company’s life-cycle, specializing in value creation.
Eric N. Stober – Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer & Secretary
Mr. Stober joined Astrotech in 2008 and was promoted to the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary in 2013. Prior to Astrotech, he worked in private equity for Virtus Financial Group analyzing middle market investment opportunities. Mr. Stober previously led several of his own entrepreneurial ventures and he began his career working for Lehman Brothers and Goldman Sachs (The Ayco Company) in private wealth management.
Raj Mellacheruvu – Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Mellacheruvu has over 20 years of experience in start-up and large enterprise environments focused on technology innovation, maximizing P&L performance and full lifecycle product management. In a prior position he served as the Vice President of Products & Strategy at ClearCube Technology, where he led the development and delivery of industry leading innovative products and solutions.
David Rafferty – Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Rafferty leads the technical development of the 1st Detect Miniature Chemical Detector. Mr. Rafferty has 20 years of engineering experience in the Aerospace and Mass Spectrometry industries. Prior to SPACEHAB / 1st Detect, Mr. Rafferty led the electronics development of the Trace Gas Analyzer, a handheld mass spectrometer used by Space Station astronauts.
Lee Drennan – Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Drennan is Vice President of Engineering with a 30 year track record of product development in the computer and consumer electronics industry. He has worked at both start-up and large global technology companies both domestically and internationally. Mr. Drennan has developed products for major OEM clients including Sony, Fuji Film, Toshiba, Olympus, and SanDisk.
